A two-hour drive from the Daintree, Kuranda is a peaceful mountain village located near Cairns. Kuranda offers majestic natural landscapes, a highlight being the Barron Falls. Kuranda is also bustling with markets that offer unique local produce and hand-made souvenirs – the perfect place to buy gifts for your friends and family back home or sample the local produce yourself.
Named after the palm trees that fringe the beach, Palm Cove is a just over a one hour drive from the Daintree. Arriving at Palm Cove, you can’t help but be overcome by the relaxing vibe that pervades the village. Stroll through the boutique stores, take a swing on the golf course or have some fun on the water with one of the many water activities on offer.
A scenic 45 minute drive from the Daintree will lead you to the tourist haven of Port Douglas. Take a walk along Four Mile Beach, wander around the Port Douglas Marina and enjoy the amazing culinary experiences Port Douglas has to offer.
The journey from the Daintree to Cairns is approximately ninety minutes along one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal drives. Whilst in the area, check out the amazing natural landscapes of the Babinda Boulders (1 hour from Cairns) and Millaa Millaa Falls (90 minutes from Cairns). Don’t forget your bathers!
