Baral Marrjanga, or the “Rainforest Trail”, is 400m return. The grade is easy-moderate. Wander along the rainforest track following the creek line and climb up to the waterfall viewing deck. The waterfall is a culturally significant site for Indigenous women. The walk is a great opportunity to see a plethora of Daintree creatures. Depending on the season, you could spot the Boyd’s Forest Dragons, Ulysses and other butterflies, Wompoo Fruit Doves, Azure and Buff-breasted Kingfishers, Spectacled-monarchs and more. Notable plant species include climbing pandans, woody lianes, a variety of ferns, Bowenia cycads and native nutmeg. Take a break halfway on a conveniently located bench seat to take in the sights, smells and sounds of the lush rainforest. Remember to carry water with you, wear appropriate footwear
